About this cottage rental
This small cottage is by a brook, 1 mile from the center of New London and less than a mile from beautiful hiking trails. A deck provides views of a woodsy yard. The back of the house is a screened in porch above the brook, where you'll feel as if you're in a tree house (warmer months only.) It’s quiet yet it's only a short drive to hiking, skiing, restaurants, and shops—perfect as a writing or painting retreat.
Two indoor cats will be in residence -when requesting an exchange, please indicate that you enjoy cats and will care for them during your stay.
There is a queen bed in an upstairs bedroom. Seasonally, another queen bed is available on a screened-in porch by the brook. I have a twin bedroom that I use for personal storage but if needed, can be made available.
This is my primary residence so there are personal items in the home. The home is clean and well-equipped but needs some cosmetic repairs—please ask for details if there is concern.
Please no parties, smoking, or candles. Not suitable for young children. Maximum four guests please.

The house, deck, and sloped yard make it unsuitable for small children. There is a hill to walk down from the parking area to the house. During cooler months there is an additional fee to use the firewood.

I can't give this place enough praise! Kathryn is an amazing host. Her spot is perfect for nature and cat lovers. Olga and Thor (the kitties) were adorable and sweet. The house is on a beautiful plot with a stunning garden and a creek running through the backyard. The bed on the screened patio was perfect. Kathryn has a large heating pad on the mattress to keep you warm on colder nights. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking up to the sun rise. The house is walking distance from a bunch of shops and restaurants. We couldn't be happier with our stay!

The property was so peaceful and and the host was amazing!!When we first arrived at the property it was like driving up to a dream! Such a gorgeous New England house. The resident cats were so cute and easy to care for while we were there. Although it was rather rainy during our stay the bed on the covered porch remained so incredibly comfortable! A heated bed!! Amazing! Kathryn was also amazing and so quick to respond when I messaged regarding any detail about our stay. She also left am extremely helpful PERSONALIZED guide about the property and surrounding area! She made the stay even better for sure!We will definitely be returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed sleeping outdoors on the screen porch! Different from what we were used to which made it an adventure. All the amenities you need and thoughtful touches. Thank you!
