OK house is not OK

We arrived early from Kyoto and we were allowed to place out bags at the accomodation before check in. The host was very responsive when I messaged via the booking.com app. They replied in Japanese, which google translate can wasily fixed. Unfortunately, I was constantly messaging them for the wrong reasons.

Hygiene was a big issue here. Hairs found on the pillows, doona and mattress likely from the previous party. That was gross. Pubic hairs in found in the toilet area and in the bathroom. That was disgusting. The host was apologetic and organised another thorough clean the next day. But for us, it was too late. We were supposed to stay from the 1st to 6th of January 2025. We left the place on the 3rd of January when we found cleaner, better and more affordable accomodation elsewhere The design of the house is a little odd. The bathroom is almost a dungeon on the bottom floor next to the garage. It was freezing down there so they provided an element heater. The children's play area was in the garage. Let's just say, I didn't let my kids step foot in there. I dont know if I did my location research properly, but the area around OK house is pretty dead. The station is not far, but the train line to get to other areas was pretty out of the way. Took us ages to get anywhere. Unfortunately, we were close enough to the trains and we can clearly hear them which is less than ideal when trying to sleep. All the three air conditioning and heating units had mind's of their own. We were travelling in winter, it was hard to warm the room up. The lighting in the photos played some trickery and made the place seem more than what it was. It is old and oddly designed. Lucky for us, it was also disgusting. Stay somewhere else people.
