If you value security, privacy or someone who cares about your business, do not rent from this place

The place was clean and has large rooms

The directions to the location were not great, had issues finding it from airport. The place had 0 hot water. Caretaker tried to convince me it was normal in Mombassa (it is not). The owner did have someone come out the next day & fix it. The beds/pillows felt hard as a rock & the bed I slept in had a huge crater in it as if it was slept on that spot only. The security/caretaker experience was poor. Had a disagreement with one of my guests lying and made her leave. Informed security she's not allowed back but they allowed them back in when I was not there (did't even call me to inform me). When I came home that person was inside the compound at 1am hiding in the bushes then and tried to force herself inside, grabbed me and would not let go. I had to forcibly remove her from holding me. Called Caretaker/Owner immediately The caretaker locked me inside the compound so I couldn't leave. I had to call the owner twice to get them to open the gate. Owner messaged me next day to tell me caretaker went inside my rental w/o my authorization or even notice because the fans were running all day and no one was home (its 80 degrees and theres no a/c) so why can't I run the fans to keep the place cool?? All curtains were closed, how did he know fans were running all day? The fact that he entered just because but not to change linen/clean (was told linens are changed every 2 days) tells me all i need to know. I rented the place for 7 days but left after 3 days because I didn't feel safe. I had just purchased a weeks worth of groceries to cook and had to leave the food behind. The trespasser could have killed me/us. What good is security, gates, & locks if you're going to let anyone in then lie and say you are not there? I will never rent/recommend this place. Update 10-5-2025 The guest is"not my wife", not my child. She lied & I never told you it was my wife/Child.

I was hesitant to write a review because people are trying to earn income. I notified the owner in writing of the issues

Location was secluded

Our stay was 3 weeks. The hot water wasn’t working and wasn’t notified in advance. The lights were missing half of the bulbs and the fixtures had exposed wires. The house had an infestation of wood boring beetles and if it was quiet you could hear them gnawing at the wood. The ceiling showed signs of the roof leaking. Half of the stove burners didn’t light.
