Jessica Homestay is situated on the side of the valley overlooking the magnificent Kanchenjunga range .
Bapan and his wife are hospitable and were attentive to our needs and requests . We were provided with an electric blanket on request and extra blankets. It was nice talking with Bapan. He is a great guy. He even gave us an alternative room on request. Bapan also helped us with photocopies of our documents. Always helpful and generous.
The food is tasty and is prepared in house.
There is a grocery store close by where you get your basics and can also pre-order basic meals as an alternative to eating my at Jessica.
It’s a short walk from the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help centre .
The location of the Homestay is towards the bottom of the valley, and is quite a significant walk to get to from the bus station (uphill and then downhill for about 30- 45 mins depending on your fitness level). You can take a taxi to the property which goes around , but it will cost you about Rs 400-500.
There are multiple ways from observation point and the Mall, but we often got lost on our way to and from the property. Guess it is easy for a local, but it is quite a challenge navigating the narrow paths leading to and from the property especially with heavy bags.
The rooms are also a little dated and can do with a good clean and an upgrade. There was mould in the bathroom and ceiling which is due to the wet weather conditions in Darjeeling.

La presence dans le dortoir d'un espace avec table/chaises et vue sur les montagnes. L'emplacement est calme dans un quartier aéré et agréable. Super literie. Délicieuse nourriture. Les sanitaires sont neufs.
