The apartment is absolutely lovely: elegant, spacious, and located in a perfect area for visiting Kraków’s city center and the Jewish Quarter. It is bright and well laid out, with a large shower and a spacious living room featuring an excellent TV. The apartment is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, and a beautiful, functional desk. The internet connection is excellent as well.
Unfortunately, there were three to four significant issues that impacted our stay.
First of all, there was a very strong unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, which spread throughout the living area and made it uncomfortable to sleep, eat, or spend time in the apartment.
Secondly, as the apartment is an attic with a sloped ceiling, there are three large skylights without any shutters or curtains. As a result, the apartment becomes fully illuminated very early in the morning (around 6 a.m.), making it difficult to sleep and causing our children to wake up early, which negatively affected our stay. Rest is, of course, a fundamental aspect when renting an apartment.
Additionally, cleanliness could be improved: over the course of two days, I found and had to remove three spiders from the floor.
The kitchen equipment is quite minimal. A few basic items such as a colander, additional cutlery, a roll of paper towels, a tablecloth, or even a microwave would greatly improve comfort. We are only referring to basic essentials, not anything exceptional.
Finally, although the hosts were aware that we were traveling with two children, the bed was not prepared upon arrival. We had to open the sofa bed and put the sheets on ourselves. While this was manageable in about ten minutes, it reflects a lack of attention to guest comfort—especially considering that guests often arrive tired after a day of travel and reasonably expect to find the bed ready.
I am confident these points can be addressed, and for this reason I am giving a 6-star rating in the hope that the property management will work on these aspects and improve the overall experience. Otherwise, our stay would have deserved a much lower score.
It’s a pity, as this apartment has great potential.
