Host was very responsive from the initial booking and throughout our stay. We came to Faro as a family of three (with a 5 year old) and also for a parent's 60th celebration so there were four of us in total. The apartment was sufficiently kitted out. The washing machine, dishwasher and hob were all perfectly simple to use. The living and dining room/kitchen area is open plan with the bedrooms and bathrooms down an open corridor. The first bedroom has 2 single beds, so was perfect for our 5 year old as she swapped between the beds during her stay and the next room was a nice sized large double. The first two rooms have balcony doors out to a small adjoining balcony. There are easy to use shutters on these windows for security/blocking out the light at night time. The next room is a shower room with toilet, sink and shower. Then there is the 'en-suite' room, a similarly sized large double room with similarly sized shower room. Air conditioning is throughout relevant areas. The apartment is of a good standard and is decorated in a fairly modern style. Most importantly, it appeared very clean. The apartment is close to the old town, maybe 5 minutes walk and less than 10 minutes to the 'marina' area. For the price, this is a great stay for up to 6 people. There are bars and restaurants nearby and a small shop around the corner. Again, the host was great and I'm sure if we had needed even more from them, they would have been able to provide it. Would definitely recommend and will happily use this place again if we come back to Faro.
As other reviewers have said, it is on a road that gets some use but I sleep like a log so... it didn't bother me! I can't think of any negatives really.

The apartment was lovely with everything you could need. There are three large bedrooms and two shower rooms.
The location was amazing , a few steps into the old town and less than five min walk to the harbour front.
There were lots of cafes , bars, and restaurants in the vicinity.
After looking at google earth the apartment looked to be on a small side street . It is , however it is a very busy through route to the harbour and a bus route. It is cobbled and therefore more noisy than expected. It is under the flight path which we knew and as I live near to an international airport did not think it would be an issue . We did not appreciate how busy Faro airport is. Take ear plugs if you are noise sensitive.

We loved the location and how spacious the apartment was. Plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. Loved the interior of the flat too. The electric shutters outside meant that the bedrooms are lovely and dark. There are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby - Chelsea, L'Osteria, Churrasqueira O Recife and 8Tapas to name a few. Walkable to all the main sites and close to the train station if you want to visit places like Tavira. Very easy communication with the host. We would recommend!
Not a major thing, but there was a bit of sewage smell in the bathrooms, despite caps over the plug holes in the showers. Also, as it is an apartment, you can sometimes hear the neighbours and because the airport is close by, you get plane noise. But this was not a huge issue for us - we live in London, so used to a bit of noise! And don't be put off by the graffiti by the lock box!
