Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique

The Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique is a beautiful resort, the pools and the grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are really beautiful and well-designed. I loved the shower opening up to the balcony and the view of the ocean. The beach access is an added bonus, and it was great to have complimentary kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels. The coffee shop and the ice cream shop were great:) It definitely needs some tweaks to improve the property and the service.

The service could have been much better for such a high priced hotel. The Restaurant service was slow and the poolside service was also slow and not very attentive. I have stayed at many less expensive hotels and enjoyed a much higher level of service. The food in the restaurant was varied, mostly pretty average and not cheap. I let a member of staff know that there was some kind of cleaning product on the side of the hot tub that had burnt/stung my skin but no one reached out to discuss it and the product was still there on the side of the hot tub the next day. A small thing but I would expect a resort like this to provide milk for tea and coffee in the room, not powdered milk sachets. When I requested milk in my room for tea, I was charged $7 for a glass of milk. Other than that, the resort has an odd layout in some areas, to access the pool from our building you had to exit through the teenage kids club and many of the rooms overlooked the AC units.
