So it was a great location for Great North Run. 20 min walk to the finish line and we were able to park in the street with no problem. The rooms were a great size for us, family of 4. Kitchen facilities had everything you could have wanted for a weekend stay - we ate out however but the option was there to cook. 10 min walk to the Metro and we were in Newcastle city centre in 45 mins. Really was very very simple and straight forward.
The property really isn’t the cleanest. I had to hoover as soon as we arrived, especially behind the bed. My son noticed spiders on his bed when we first went in and peeking behind the bed - it was atrocious. Covered in dust and cobwebs. The main bedroom - the bed is horrendous! You feel every single spring in your back and the noise it makes even just turning onto your side - the mattress really has seen better days. The pillows are DISGUSTING. Ridiculously flat, worn out and dirty!!! I didn’t let my kids sleep on them - we had brought spare bath towels and I rolled these up and they used these. I will upload photos of both my complaints. I think whoever is maintaining the house for the owners have really fallen short on cleanliness and upkeep. It really is a shame because the house itself is ideal.
