Hostel Birdwatching and kaya king

Location was absolutely perfect, right by the backwaters and in between paddy fields, u have to take a ferry to get to this island. the host jay is an absolute legend. he is so welcoming and helpful. he cooked us dinner & saw probably most peaceful sunset & sunrise of my trip by the lake in his boat.

My Favorite Memory of Kerala I booked this place because it was affordable, but I left with one of the best memories of my entire Kerala trip. I was terrified of kayaking. I almost backed out because I wasn't confident at all, but Jay never made me feel embarrassed or pressured. He was incredibly patient, understanding, and encouraging. He took the time to explain everything, made sure I felt safe, and kept checking in on me throughout the experience. Thanks to him, I slowly gained confidence, and what I thought would be the scariest part of my trip became my absolute favorite. Paddling through the peaceful backwaters at sunrise, surrounded by birds and lush greenery, was magical. It wasn't just a kayaking trip it was an experience I'll remember for years. Jay is honestly one of the kindest hosts I've ever met. He genuinely cares about his guests, not just as customers but as people. Whether it was helping with transport, sharing local recommendations, or simply sitting down for a chat over chai, he made everyone feel welcome. The hostel itself is simple, clean, and amazing value for money. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful views, and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place to disconnect from the busy tourist spots and experience the real beauty of Alleppey. If you're even slightly nervous about kayaking like I was, don't let that stop you. Trust Jay you'll be in the best hands, and you might end up loving it as much as I did. This wasn't just a place to stay. It was an experience that gave me confidence, unforgettable memories, and a reason to come back. Thank you, Jay.
