April House was very clean, comfortable and much bigger than the pictures suggest. Our party of 4 and our large dog had plenty of space to relax. The beds were very comfortable and, perhaps prompted by previous reviews, there was a good choice of pillows and a lovely welcome tray waiting for us. The house is genuinely close to the beaches and some lovely walks. Though Amble is quite a modest small town, we found several lovely cafes and small harbour shops to interest us. The Chinese takeaway was excellent.
Being REALLY picky, as the property was great, a couple more pictures and some curtains to accompany the blind in the front room would make the space even more comfortable. Also, maybe some plants in the yard outside.

I loved my stay at April House. It was perfect for me. It was warm and toasty. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you might need to cook. The sofa was super comfy and I loved the fire that could be turned on with a remote! The situation was great for me as it's so close to the sea front and I enjoyed walking on the coastal path each day. It's only a ten minute walk to Tesco so it was easy to shop each day. It's a lovely property and I will probably be back!
The only improvements I can suggest are 1) a bath/shower mat, 2) larger towels and 3) better pillows.
If I had brought my dogs, I would have been disappointed by the lack of garden, especially as it was advertised as pet friendly. But I didn't take the dogs so all was well!
