Location was amazing. Close to shops and eating places. Air-conditioning was beautiful for hotter days. Cooled the place rather quickly. The balcony was modified well, I believe, to offer a quiet corner to sit and gaze at the sky through the windows. Kitchen was well-equipped. Interior design of apartment was simple. Small corner lamps in the living area were definitely helpful at night.
Mirrors in the car park at turning points helped with blind spots.
Could have been under $1000 for 6 nights. The trams across the road were either not operating or operating inconsistently due to road works/closure extending the tram line. Sofa bed could have been comfortable if not for the partition in the middle that can easily cause both sections to separate! Bed mattress in the room was too high for seniors who have to climb onto bed. Paper kitchen towel was missing. There were chipped plates and a burnt pot. The shower screen isn’t wide enough to keep the water within the shower area when splashes occur. The floor had not been cleaned efficiently. Houseflies found a way to enter through either the sunroof or opened windows. Frustrating to have them flying in front of my face. A fly screen may have helped. Windows and doors had to be opened when cooking. The tissue box was also not stocked up.
Safety was a concern at the main entrance of the property at nights. I noticed the lobby was dark until you swipe the fob and even then the lights take a while to come on. Dickson has some unpleasant characters walking along Northbourne Avenue who may have the potential to approach others and be of danger to them. I faced one such situation during my stay. Nothing happened but knowing ‘interesting’ characters were walking along, who potentially could ‘force’ themselves into the building as I opened it was not encouraging. So hopefully lights turned on at the lobby and with a little more security would be comforting.
