Scary experience.

Location

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We felt completely misled. We were given the wrong access code for the key. The building smells bad and is dirty. The apartment door lock is broken, making it extremely difficult to enter and leave. The terrace door does not lock, is covered with a shower curtain, and opens by itself with wind gusts. The kitchen is completely non-functional: dirty cutlery and appliances (some not working at all), almost no pots or pans. Bath towels stored in the kitchen cabinet together with bleach. Only half a roll of toilet paper provided. No trash bins or garbage bags available. The bathroom is very dirty, with holes in the walls, a filthy shower, and no water pressure. Some power outlets do not work. The bed was unmade, with dirty sheets and a mattress covered in plastic bags. We also found a dirty sock that did not belong to us. The windows have no curtains, there is a huge gap in the entrance door, and the apartment entrance is obstructed by a door and construction materials. The floor, table, and chairs were dirty (with brown/chocolate-like stains), and there was clutter under the beds. The host was rude. The accommodation does not meet basic standards of hygiene, safety, or comfort.

We enjoyed the location and Marseille but apartment was a complete disappointment

The location was excellent. Very central, within walking distance of everything

Terrible check-in experience. Lock-box code was wrong. Had to call landlord. Front door key didn’t work. The apartment had the potential to be charming, but it was really neglected. Holes in in walls, everything needs painting. Absolutely basic facilities. Many things were badly installed and half broken (door handles, cupboard doors, etc). No storage facilities for clothes like shelves or a wardrobe

Awuful! The room was in the middle of reconstruction- some walls and ceiling are partly painted

Nothing except the location in the Old Port.
