This is the 2nd time I've stayed here at The Raven and it certainly won't be the last.
The staff are all fantastic, friendly, helpful, and even though they are all busy they are all really cheerful and take time to interact with you.
Yes, admittedly the rooms look a little tired and dated, but they are clean, have everything you need and more importantly I sleep like a log here as the bedding is lovely and the beds extremely comfortable. Plus, staying on my own here as a female traveller, I felt extremely safe and at no point felt uncomfortable.
As long as you give your registration number when you check in, parking is free, and there is a big car park with plenty of space.
Quality of sleep is the most important thing anywhere you stay, and that coupled with the outstanding staff, makes The Raven a great place to stay

The Raven Hotel in Hook is an adequate and reasonably comfortable place to stay, particularly if you’re looking for somewhere convenient and straightforward rather than luxury accommodation.
The room was clean and generally satisfactory, and the venue itself was perfectly adequate for my stay. However, there were a few issues that could easily be addressed and would improve guest comfort.
The main issue was the room temperature. The fan provided was quite small for the size of the room and wasn’t sufficient to cool it effectively, particularly in warmer weather. A larger, more powerful fan or improved ventilation would make a noticeable difference.
Another minor but annoying issue was the amount of light coming into the room from the hallway underneath the door. This was noticeable at night and could affect sleep. A simple door seal or adjustment to the door would probably resolve this.
I also noticed that the cold water tap was running warm rather than cold. This suggests there may be an issue with the plumbing or insulation between the hot and cold water supplies and is something worth checking from a maintenance perspective.
Overall, the hotel is clean and adequate, but a little attention to some relatively straightforward maintenance and comfort issues would improve the guest experience considerably.
In summary: a perfectly acceptable stay, but there are a few relatively simple improvements required.
