We are a senior Midwest American couple. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, $40. Taxi rates are set by the gov't. Upon arrival everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We had the bedroom and an attached suite with a kitchen (full size fridge, microwave, coffee maker (with filters), and dishwasher), washer/dryer combo, a pull-out sofa and a nice balcony. We had two showers and a jacuzzi style tub. The balcony overlooked the pools and had a nice view of the sea.
We did not rent a car but just opted to take taxis if needed. A taxi to Saint Anna's chruch was $15 each way for an 11 am English Catholic mass on Sunday. We also took a taxi up to Bugaloes Pier. My wife has a difficult time walking but we met plenty of Divi resort people that walked. We pretty much ate at the Divi for every meal. Coffee, fruit, and a danish for breakfast at the Deli, lunch and snacks at the Pure Beach, and a few dinners at the Pure Ocean. The staff in our experience was not slow but very nice. Shout out to the servers Cherie Ann and Milka at the Pure Beach. They were great. Charlotte at guest relations was nice too. Guest relations wanted to watch a 90 minute deal on ownership opitons but we did not do that. Checkout was easy.

While we reserved a ocean view room, the view was very limited. And there was one staff member at the wave shack who was not happy to be at work and made us very aware.
However, the rest of the staff were very nice and helpful. The room was nice and spacious. The pools were clean and chairs were available most of the time.
It's about a 15 minute walk to shops, bars and restaurants. The staff are helpful in getting taxis for trips.

The Divi Phoenix resort was beautiful! The rooms in my suite were spacious and the views amazing! I loved having 2 balconies and even a desk for my husband to work when he had to! The only negative is that the room had a coffee maker but no coffee or tea provided, and there were no decently priced grocery stores/convenience stores nearby. Would have to take a taxi, which was pretty expensive. So, plan ahead, if you want your own snacks/drinks for the room!
The beach was amazing and we were walking distance to so many great restaurants! It took us two days to realize it though! The staff were all great and the happy hours were nicely spread out between bars! We had a fabulous time!
