This was truly an oasis in the desert! Lush green & floral surroundings with many colorful birds. Our lodge was fully equipped with a spacious outdoor space for enjoying morning coffee. Charming pool
area with many comfortable areas for relaxing.

I spent a week at Jan Kok while on a birding holiday. The property is safe, quiet, and perfect for those looking for privacy and seclusion. This is a great choice for birders, as the property has lots of plants and resident birds, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the nearby salina, where flamingos and other waterbirds abound. A car is absolutely necessary, but there's a grocery store and restaurants within a 10-minute drive. The lodges are very clean and stocked with all the basic kitchen tools, but bring your own soap, shampoo, and coffee or tea. Highly recommended for independent travelers who want to avoid the noise and bustle of resorts.

Frederieke and her husband have created this wonderful jungle oasis that was serene and so well taken care of. It was a great way to explore the middle of the island and they were very communicative. The outdoor kitchen and barbecue are great, and it was such a treat to be in nature. Would visit again!
