The Fairchild House is very charming, and all in all, is a nice place to stay, with reasonable rates.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and good. Shrimp and grits on the weekend was so good, my husband became a convert.
My biggest complaint is the tiny shower stall which needs something to make the shower floor non-slip.
The bed was comfy, but the pillows were almost useless. The place was clean enough, with minor exceptions.

The room (first floor) was clean. Very small bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Tiny tv, not much bigger than an IPad. Building very old, musty smell but AC helped. Nice. continental breakfast served on weekdays with an additional hot dish on weekends. Super friendly and helpful staff. Close walking distance to street car. We did not have a car but parking did not seem to be an issue.

Always a convenient and quiet hidden neighborhood close to everything the Lowe Garden District is the place to be and the Fairchild is great place to stay
