The hotel and staff are lovely. It is very out of the way (which is the point) but surrounded by amazing views of the mountains and lakes. Very serene and quiet. Just the place to unwind, enjoy some solitude with nature and Some lovely meals. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

It is a beautiful family owned and run hotel with friendly staff and an outstanding restaurant. The lake view rooms provide a beautiful view of both the lake and church. The rooms are comfortable s and clean. Gougane Barra is my family’s favorite place in Ireland.

The staff made this property shine! It was a beautiful property. But chatting with the owner and his wife (the chef). Was a highlight. Learning the family history was very interesting. They hire amazing people from all over the world who were equally as nice to chat with.
The lake was beautiful- breathtaking- even in the rain.
The room was smaller- but it’s an older hotel- so to be expected
The food! Don’t get me started. Not only was it very good- dinners were a work of art! So talented
