DISRESPECTFUL!!

NOTHING!!

Isaac is the absolute WORST and did not allow me to leave the property until he got for more money from me.As a result I had to call the authorities for assistance! I wish i could give this place negative. This business should not be on this website and shouldn’t be allowed to be advertised.He wrongfully took my money and did not allow me to leave until I paid him the amount he wanted. Summary- my hot water didn’t last longer than 5 minutes. He said wait an hour and it should be fine.I did that and still it didn’t last longer than 5 minutes. He got upset and started yelling at me saying that it was something I was doing and asked how long does the hot water last in my home.I stayed calm and was confused why he was yelling at a customer. To prove to him that I wasn’t doing anything I told him to come back in another hour so he can see for himself.He did and found that I was right so I checked him.He said I already took a shower so it should be fine, my shower shouldn’t last longer than 5 minutes and I shouldn’t need hot water- running the shower messes with his electricity.After all was said and done he said I could stay the night for free because I was not allowing him to take advantage of me.I was originally supposed to stay 2 nights but couldn’t bare staying there another night.He told me that I wouldn’t find any review complaining about the hot water and I found many.The next morning when I went to leave he was blocking the gate and didn’t allow the guard to open it for me until I paid him the amount he wanted.As a result I had to call the authorities and they told him I was right. It should never have gone this far. I was in room 4 the double superior room.He said this was a new room but it’s not.Im a solo natural born woman traveler and it’s obvious he thought he could get over on me. I DO NOT RESPECT YOU AND NEVER WILL! Due to your conniving ways you will never be prosperous.The breakfast and tea-I gave it to 2 homeless girls on the street :)

Clean and spacious room

There was a mixup with another accommodation that we had booked - so we really appreciated that Volcano View had last minute availability for us. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff very kind.

Exceptional

I had a wonderful stay in this great bnb. The house is really nice, as well as the rooms, but what really stands out is the quality of the staff and the advice they gave me. They organised activities for me on the spot and made my stay in Musanze a great stay! I would recommend staying there.

Lovely homestay

It's really more of a homestay, which I personally appreciated. The host helped me with an excellent last minute trip to the twin lakes on the day of arrival and the two lovely girls working there took excellent care of me during the entire stay. Delicious breakfast and outstanding dinner. Secure parking and as a bonus a lovely dog (stays outside, well groomed, likes pets but is okay if you don't feel like it). All in all, highly recommended!

Very good

The rooms were very nice, although one of them was next to the kitchen and so it was noisy very early in the morning. Good breakfast for the price.

Unfortunatly, they only accept cash for payment, despite having on Booking they only accept credit cards. We were only told this when we were checking out.

Spacious and clean room

- Spacious and clean room - Good value for money if you plan to stay 1- 2 nights. - Good breakfast - Flexibility to accommodate is for dinner ( not planned)

- The shower didn't have hot water. Unfortunately we were only told at the check-out time that the heater takes 30' to warm up.

Exceptional

The guest house is in a great location on Musanze, not far from the Volcano national park reserve. The hosts and staff of this place are just incredible! They helped us so much behind our expectations (cleaned our car and shoes from mud after the hiking without even asking). The room is comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast is great. We highly recommend this place, we felt at home.

A home away from home in Ruhengheri

The staff here are wonderful. Lucy was a great hostess and helped us organise all our day trips, including a birthday cake for my boyfriend during our stay, and Eric was super friendly and even gave our car a clean. The communal area is great for chilling and watching a movie in the evenings, and the bed was very comfy.

There was ongoing construction during our stay which didn't allow for much privacy in our bathroom.

Breakfast was nice. Fruit could have been a bit fresher. Toast could have been a bit more toasted. Butter and jam would have been nice.

The pillows on our bed was not very comfortable. The linen was very nice.

Ideally located to explore the town, and to visit Dian Fossey's grave

Isaac, JoJo, and Lucy are all very hospitable, and they went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. This was certainly achieved. Volcano View is centrally located, and this enables you to walk into town, explore it, or have dinner and a drink in one of the places nearby. There is also an ATM within walking distance should you need it. We wanted to visit Dian Fossey's grave, and Isaac helped to organise this. Thanks to him, we will have treasured memories from this. We were travelling on to Gisenyi, and had a slight hiatus with the taxi that we had booked. Isaac stepped into the breach at short notice. Thanks Isaac. Building works, to extend the property, is currently underway, and this can impact during the day. The other thing to bear in mind is that Volcano View only accepts payment in Rwandan Francs. Alternatively, it might be possible to do an international payment in US$ in advance - speak to JoJo or Isaac about this.

Great for a local, authentic Rwandan experience.

The warmest, kindest, most helpful host ever. He will plan excursions and take really good care of his guests. He goes the extra mile. I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. Thank you for giving me the best experience Rwanda could offer!

Perfect place to stay in Musanze

We had an amazing and unforgettable stay at Volcano View! Isaac and the rest of the staff are super nice, helpful and competent. They really made us feel at home. The house is very pretty with a nice and relaxing outdoor area. Breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh fruit, juice and great tea. Isaac took us on an unforgettable daytrip to the twin lakes and waterfalls. He was an amazing guide and everything went so smoothly without us doing any planning! All in all, this is the right address if you stay in Musanze. Fantastic work guys!

Lucy is very helpful and nice and Isaac the owner is great We ended booking all our trip to Rwanda with him and we are very happy and satisfied He is nice, helpful, efficient and thank to him our Rwanda expérience has been fantastic ! Lucy, the hostess, took excellent care of us and really made us feel at home. The owner, Isaac, gave us a warm welcome and useful information. The garden was beautifully landscaped. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and generous. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. Honey, the guard dog, was very sweet and chatty. I definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. It was a great value.

The parking is a little tight, but we were able to get in and out ok. The power went out one evening but not for very long. The candles were actually nice.

it just felt like home, Isaac felt like a friend from the first minute. We came here to visit Volcano park and we couldn’t imagine having a better time then we did. He also helped us for transport to our trips!

Isaac and his staff were great hosts, they are a great launching pad for travel around Ruhengeri!

Volcano View was great! It is in a great location. Isaac and the staff are wonderful; it feels like you can stay and make friends there. The breakfast was wonderful and on time for our trip to Volcanoes National Park. The room was comfortable and what we expected.

Amazing Rwandese stay !

Warm welcome, delicious typical dinner and very interesting discussion with lovely Rwandan hosts! Our night before the trek with the gorillas was great! We received useful tips and we will not forget our stay at Volcano View!! We absolutely recommend it!

Good budget accommodation.

Isaac is really lovely and helpful, when he was around he went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The compund is really safe and we enjoyed watching movies in the living room. And Isaac put on a fire outside one if the evenings which was really nice.

When we first arrived there was no Wifi and no hot water. Both were resolved by the evening. There's a dog called Honey that took to me straight away but apparently takes time to like men. After being so friendly with me, my husband went to stroke, after she approached him while he was sitting, and she tried to bite his hand. No one had warned us that she could be like that.

Great location, great breakfast, amazing service and staff

We had an amazing time staying at this B&B. Great value for our money! What stood out the most was how helpful ana amazing Issac was. Not only did he help with our needs in Musanze (car rental, tour guide, etc.), He even connected us with hotels in our next stops and helped get great deals. Can't recommend Volcano View enough!
