Location is somewhat inconvenient. Shuttle runs 9-10am and 3-6pm. It is about one mile to walk to the station, which we did and it was fine. Rooms were clean, outdoor bath and shower was very nice.

Big room, not bad bed. Nothing wrong with the hotel just blackout blinds should be in use since has a massive glass doors and obviously the light in early morning is ridiculous. Otherwise perfect stay

As many comments suggest, it’s a looooong walk up a very steep hill. I personally loved it. The private outdoor onsen was spectacular (just cover up on your way in and out of the tub and you’ll be fine) and the Japanese style room with the floor bad was the comfiest sleep I’ve had on my 21 day trip!
If you’re looking for something out of town, a little more quiet with charm I’d choose this location!
My only complaint is that you need to hand your key over every time you go out. The staff aren’t always at the desk to give it back. So if you’ve just gotten done a long day in the mountains and the climbed that hill up to the hotel… a little wait for the key feels like forever.
