Southern Palms Beach Resort

Great location. Not the friendliest staff when we visited, and the resort could do with a little more TLC in places, but a pleasant stay regardless. But we had a wonderful time. The Valentine's special was a rip off considering it was 90% the same food as the all-inclusive menu we had already paid for.

I spent 11 days at the resort and was thoroughly impressed by the customer service, attentiveness, cleanliness, and overall resort performance. In particular, there were several people that went above and beyond to include Sabina and Catherine in the dining hall; bartender Paul and multiple other drink servers; and managers Mercer and Defence. I was also impressed with the Spa, in so much I had four spa services. Although the spa is somewhat small for a resort this size, that didn’t take away from the professionalism and expert services demonstrated by Berniece (I believe that’s her name) and Vivian. A major observation I have is that I strongly encourage management to have hand sanitizer accessible for employees and guest throughout the resort specifically in the dining hall, and where food is served for obvious hygienic reasons.

Property is very very big and right on the beach. I would say the biggest complaint is the wifi in the room is very weak and not that much better when you go around the property. Second, please put a window instead of a screen in the bathroom. We were next to the stairs and it’s just people walking around all hours of the night talking loudly and sliding their feet in their sandals on the ground. Third, it’s not really a complaint but the pool bar would be better if it was completely wrap around. We noticed it was always the same people that went to the pool from opening to close and just stay glued to the pool bar which means less room for other people.

The hotel was really beautiful, with great facilities, lovely staff, and an absolutely stunning beach — actually the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. We really liked the rooms. They were well maintained, but due to the humidity in the climate, there was some wear and tear, which is to be expected in this kind of environment. We stayed there at the beginning of the rainy season, which made the experience feel even more special. It almost felt as if the entire hotel and all the staff were there just for us. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and service-minded. The only thing I would rate slightly lower was the food in the all-inclusive package. The Indian dishes were absolutely delicious, but surprisingly, the local food was not as flavorful. That said, everything was clean, tidy, and very hygienic. The fruit station was especially lovely. All in all, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay, and the hotel gave us a truly wonderful holiday experience.
