Fantastic historic place. Comfy bed, lovely clawfoot bath, cheerful kind owner. Nothing super fancy, just a sweet place to stay for a good price with beautiful view of the river in charming town

The owner was lovely and very friendly. The hotel was right up my alley, I love anything to do with history. Very clean and well maintained for such an older building. The view of the river is amazing. I didn’t see much of the town, had a long drive and left early the next morning.

Beautiful location overlooking the river. Staff was very friendly. Mattress could be replaced. It sinks in the middle quite a bit. It was ok for a night, but would have been rough any more than that. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay!

Marsha (owner) of Empire House, was amazing! She supplied ice, coffee (including coffee machine), cream/sugar, bottled water, granola snacks and so much more. The room was perfect for 2 people! Located where convenient to walk to stores, restaurants and the casino. Perfect view of the Ohio River!
