The property is located in a wonderful part of Italy, and the interior is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was comfortable, making for a pleasant stay overall.
My only challenge was the check-in process. While some arrival information was provided, a few key details were missing. Upon arrival, I tried calling the property several times and also sent messages through the Expedia app, including one a few days before my stay, but I did not receive a response. I ended up waiting about 45 minutes at a nearby bar while trying to figure out how to access the building.
In the end, it wasn’t a major issue, but the arrival instructions could be clearer. The main entrance does not provide direct access to the check-in area, and I wasn’t aware that I needed to use one of the intercom buttons to gain entry. Since none were labeled for check-in, I wasn’t sure whether I was contacting a concierge or another guest. Eventually, I chose one and thankfully someone answered and let me in.
As a solo traveler arriving in the evening, I could see how this situation might feel stressful or confusing. A simple note explaining which intercom button to use and how to access the building would make the arrival process much smoother for future guests.

Room was clean. Staff was helpful. Check in and check out were difficult due to unclear instructions. The actual door was difficult to find and there were no clear instructions on how to enter the property. Staff was available to answer my questions promptly when I called.

The location was great, we took the Alilaguna to Guglie and the walk to the hotel, even with bags, was a breeze. The buzzer at the door isn’t super clear that it’s for Antigo Portego but we buzzed the top button and we got connected and allowed in without issue. Samantha was communicative and met us in the entry then directed us to our room. There are not a ton of extras at this hotel but we were out and about all day so the room just needed to be clean, comfortable, and quiet — which it absolutely was. Would recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Felt like everywhere in Venice was very close and walkable and I would say it took us about 15/20 min to get to the Rialto Bridge and Market and maybe another 10 minutes to get to the Basilica area from the hotel so things felt close but we weren’t in the thick of it when we wanted to come home.
