Location is fantastic! You can’t get better. Corner of the street , opposite to the ferry terminal, next to shop and restaurant. 5 minutes from old/heritage theatre.
Bed is comfortable, good pressure in the shower. Staff are really nice.
It has caracter! As it is old it does have some squeaking floor board and the solarium is single glazed but it’s also part of the charm. Just don’t expect soundproof and immaculate doors and fabric as it is vantage. I definetly would stay back there if I return to Devonport.

Great location, nice view. Good big bed. Nice sunroom. Old fashioned but well maintained. Room is large with high ceilings. 130 years old, has a lot of character. Right in Devonport. Good price point. Would highly recommend

Way beyond expectations. We booked with the expectation of a room with a view. We were delighted with the private penthouse suite. Better and bigger than our apartment. It had not one but two rooms with a magnificent view of Devonport wharf and Waitemata harbour.

Not much choice in Devenport - this hotel was bought by Chineses interests some years ago and they obviously do not like spending money on maintaining the property. Squeaky floorboards, squeeky doors, light above basin in bathroom not working, shower floor waste has unattached metal cap floating around the shower base, timber ventians in the sun room not working properly, one bedroom window cracked and repaired by sticking a sheet of adhesive backed imitation tiles (!) across it thereby blocking the view, drill holes in the bathroom tiles - I could go on!
Would be a wonderful hotel if Mr. Jai Li and Chang Wei Li spent the money. Location is fabulous - but they don't have to pay to maintain that. Staff were great though.
