Carlos and his family have been great hosts. Luis, his son, has been very helpful in arranging transport from/to Havana and various activities in Vinales!

There is music and dancing in the streets of Vinales in the evenings - maybe every evening? Certainly each of the three nights we spent there! Carlos’s casa is just a short walk away from the heart of the town, so very convenient for all the fun spots, but far enough for a peaceful night’s rest if you’re all partied-out. Clean and comfortable, with a shared family room and our own sitting room, as well as access to a roof-top terrace with views across the neighbourhood and to the spectacular mountains beyond. Also plenty of those surprisingly comfortable metal rocking chairs. Hearty breakfasts. Carlos was also able to arrange a horseback tour for us, as well as a horse-drawn taxi. In fact there was a lot of horse traffic in our area, as well as chickens wandering in and out of our garden whenever they felt like it – wonderful.

Peaceful and quiet place to stay. Room is clean and tidy. Terrific hot shower by which the water supply is strong. Closed to centre area. The host is helpful and friendly. He offered me trip option and arranged a good collectivo driver for me back to Havana. If the wifi could be 24 hours it would be perfect.
