From the lobby to our room itself, the hotel was very clean and the inside had all been updated. We got a King Bed Room (Rm14) and it was very spacious with a large closet, a mini-fridge, and a microwave in it. The bathroom was on the small side but very clean and met our needs. The bathroom had a standing shower only, no bath-tub. The pool yard is small but convenient and clean.
Michael is the new owner and he was very helpful and nice to talk with. We arrived earlier than check-in time and he was happy to accommodate us and let us get in our room early.
There is a Keurig in the lobby that you can use for your morning coffee or there is Holiday Coffee shop or OC Island Cafe within a block walk from the hotel. I'd highly recommend both of these options.
I think the only semi-negative comment I would have would be the rooms are a little echo-y since they have high ceilings and hard wood floors but that's not really a negative.
If you're looking for a well-priced stay for a long weekend at the shore, I would highly recommend The Cove!

The Location was fantastic, with easy access to the beach and local shops just steps away. The Bed was soft and comfortable, giving us a great night of sleep after a long drive. You can’t go wrong with the Cove. Although I didn’t get the night managers name, he was super nice and seemed to genuinely care about his job and making sure folks had what they needed, making the stay completely worry free.
