I felt so happy to stay here, it felt as if I were sharing a space with a local family. They were extremely kind, and their warm smiles made me feel right at home. I was very lucky to talk a lot with the son, who speaks excellent English. Thanks to him, I gained understanding of the Khinalug alphabet.
Regarding a previous review about the 15-day registration, I believe it was not the host's mistake. I asked someone about the process, and they advised submitting it early, as it can take time even if you still have days left before the deadline. Also, the family arranged a taxi for me at a reasonable price. I guess the cost depends on the day/time.
I highly recommend this place to any traveler who wants to experience authentic local life here!

Das Dorf liegt einzigartig in einem abgelegenen Gebiet. Die Lage der Unterkunft der Familie ist genial, weil man vom Zimmer aus direkt auf die Berge schauen kann. Es gab Internet und Strom; unten im Haus ein kleines Waschbecken und außerhalb des Hauses konnte man ein Plumbsklo aufsuchen. Wer Komfort möchte, muss definitiv woanders hin. Aber dafür reist man ja nicht in dieses Dorf. Die Familie hat Mittagessen und Abendessen zubereitet und es gab reichlich Wodka. Sie sprechen leider kein Englisch und ich weder russisch noch die Dorfsprache, aber man konnte sich mit Händen und Füßen verständigen.
Mir wurde vorab nicht mitgeteilt, dass die Mahlzeiten extra bezahlt werden müssen. Selbstverständlich hätte ich ein fettes Trinkgeld bezahlt. In der Nacht, in der mir die Rechnung präsentiert wurde, gab es deswegen allerdings erstmal ein unangenehmes Missverständnis.
