I have been using Booking.com for over a decade, and this rental was by far the worst experience I've ever had.
Firstly, the condition of the home was unacceptable. It was dirty upon arrival, with garbage left in the back, and the bedsheets were visibly unclean. To make matters worse, towels were not provided, and the house was not cleaned daily. We had to wash the two towels we received in the washing machine, which was initially broken but later fixed. If we wanted extra towels, we had to pay an additional fee, which felt unreasonable given the basic lack of amenities.
The location was also problematic. It was far away from everything, requiring a car to get into town, which took around 40 minutes. Additionally, the area was noisy, primarily due to stray dogs constantly barking, making it difficult to relax. On top of this, the service from the owner was non-existent, which made addressing these issues even more frustrating.
One of the most concerning aspects was the pool, which was on a timer, allowing only two hours of use per day. This was particularly disappointing as we had chosen the place partly for the kids to enjoy the pool. On top of that, there were surveillance cameras filming the pool area, which made us uncomfortable, especially as our children were being recorded.
Moreover, we were given a daily limit on electricity usage, and if we exceeded this limit, we were required to pay extra. This restriction felt particularly unfair, especially given the high rental cost.
The final straw was the deposit situation. After our stay, we were accused of breaking a floating duck, resulting in a loss of 1,000 Baht from our 3,050 Baht deposit. This felt like a complete scam, especially since we had no recollection of damaging any property.
To all fellow travelers, especially Westerners, I strongly advise avoiding this rental. It is overpriced, dirty, noisy, far from amenities, and there is a high risk of being scammed out of your deposit.
