We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Llandovery and thought the location of the apartment was fantastic.
The staff at the hotel were also wonderful — very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment. The surfaces, including every windowsill and floors had a considerable amount of dust and debris on them, which caused me quite a lot of discomfort due to my asthma and allergies. I had to keep the bedroom window open throughout our stay and use my inhaler and nasal spray much more frequently than I normally would.
We also found that the kitchen crockery, plates, glasses, etc. were not clean and we had to wash everything before we could use it. The sponge, cloth and tea towel provided were also very dirty and worn, so we ended up purchasing our own.
Thankfully, as we were in Llandovery for Sheep Fest, we spent very little time in the apartment, so this did not have as much of an impact on our weekend as it otherwise could have. However, had we been travelling with children or the Sheep Fest not on, I would not have considered the condition of the apartment acceptable.
It was a shame that the cleanliness of the apartment affected what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay, particularly as we really liked the location and found the hotel staff to be excellent.
I wanted to make you aware of our experience, as we would hope that the cleanliness issues can be addressed for future guests.

Modern apartment with very well equipped kitchen

Right in Llandovery town .
Regrettably, the shower was broken and a plumber arrived within an hour to fix it. Which was a fantastic response. However, they couldn’t do it. We were given access to another property with a working shower. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use it for my grandchildren because there wasn’t a place for me to wait while they showered and it wasn’t safe to leave them alone. So for a weekend away really wasn’t the best and definitely wasn’t value for money .
The beds were all clean and fresh. Unfortunately, the dust and spider webs around weren’t. We moved the sofa to find a toy my grandchild had lost. I think that was the first time they’d been moved as there was rubbish and muck underneath that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time . The kitchen had been wiped over but not cleaned as the freezer was full of frost and left over food . Think that if they had a better check list of cleaning between guests would work better .
with some gentle cleaning it would be a much more comfortable place to stay .
