Very special Location. Sleeping in a real castle!! Great, very beautifully renovated in old style. The furniture is huge an georgious.
Very nice hosts. The host Lee knows a lot about history and loves to tell about renovating the castle and their plans.
Breakfast was great, everyday scrambled eggs and bread/ toast and other things. (But for a longer stay I would like deutsche brotchen with cheese and ham, bacon)
The bathroom belonging to the kings room is really great!! The bathroom belonging to the Queens room is okay and will get modern renovation.
We stayed in the Kings Room and the Queens room. I prefered the Kings Room.
The smell in the Queens room is moldy because it is an old castle. They cannot do anything about it I guess. The Kings Room had no smell. When you have to go to the toilet at night, better use slippers in the hallway, the floor is off natural stone and I had to put on my shoes in both rooms.

Natürlich sind die Steckdosen Mangelware, aber mit einer Powerbank konnte man sich selber helfen.

Als liefhebber van kastelen is het altijd een voorrecht om in een echt middeleeuws kasteel te kunnen overnachten. Door de jaren heen heb ik in tal van landen (o.a. Frankrijk, Polen, Duitsland) in kastelen geslapen. In veel van die gevallen, was het kasteel dusdanig verbouwd, dat een echte middeleeuwse sfeer ontbrak. Hierdoor was de overnachting vaak niet meer dan een gewone hotelnacht. Een nacht in Burg Hermannstein is anders. De middeleeuwse sfeer is wel degelijk aanwezig. De dikke kasteelmuren, de originele stenen vloeren, de memorabilia aan de muren en op de vloeren en de fraaie plafonds, alles is aanwezig om het een onvergetelijke middeleeuwse nacht te maken. Tel daar de uitermate vriendelijke gastheer Lee bij op en het zorgde voor misschien wel mijn beste overnachting in een kasteel tot dusverre. Wie van kastelen houdt en een nacht in een echt middeleeuws kasteel wil beleven, kan ik een overnachting in Burg Hermannstein alleen maar aanbevelen. Eigenaar Lee zal zorgen dat u niets te kort komt en dat alle wensen worden vervuld.
Houd wel rekening met twee kleine nadelen (hoewel nadelen? Het gaat immers om een gebouw uit de 14e en 15e eeuw). Het kan er koud zijn en internet en wifi bestonden nog niet in de middeleeuwen. Wie zich door deze kleine nadelen niet uit het veld laat slaan, zal een overnachting hebben om nooit te vergeten. Oh ja, parkeren kan gewoon op de straat voor en naast het kasteel.

Unser Apartment lag in einer mittelalterlichen Burg, was einerseits ein faszinierendes Ambiente ergab, andererseits verständlicherweise einige Abstriche am Komfort bewirkte. Das Frühstück war gut. die Eigentümer bemühen sich sehr, den Gästen alles recht zu machen.
Der Parkplatz am Hang Bau insbesondere Nacht nicht gut zu nutzen.
