Hotel Villa al Mare

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable stay. The two ladies running the hotel were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, helping us with everything from bus schedules to local recommendations. Getting There & Accessibility From Ischia Porto, we took the 175 bus, which took about 25 minutes and dropped us off right outside the property. There are quite a few steps leading up to the hotel—a great way to burn off carb-heavy meals, but worth keeping in mind for anyone with mobility concerns. Dining & Drinks The food at the on-site restaurant and bar was fantastic, and they make a brilliant Aperol Spritz. All expenses are settled at the end of the stay. In hindsight, we recommend requesting a price list beforehand to avoid surprises, as small extras like bottled water incur a charge. The included breakfast was varied and delicious, featuring eggs cooked to order and great coffee. Right next door, Onda Verde is another fantastic restaurant option. Rooms & Amenities Our room at the top featured a private balcony with sensational views. While basic, it had everything we needed—including great air conditioning and plenty of space to hang wet beach gear. A small fridge would have been a nice touch, though we knew in advance one wasn't provided. Pool & Beach The on-site thermal pool is compact, offers lovely views, and is surrounded by plenty of sunbeds.
