Other nearby attractions are Mystery Hill, Tweetsie Railroad, Wilderness Alpine Coaster, and Hawksnest ziplining. We are located minutes from skiing, dining, wine tasting, breweries, shopping, art galleries, hiking, rafting, Blue Ridge parkway, and so much more. This excellent home features 3 queen beds and 1 sofa bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. The house was clean and still had a new home smell. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, but I found no blender, in case you want to make smoothies. There was garbage left in the pull-out cabinet so we set it outside in the small bin, but it was never picked up and critters scattered it. We put our garbage in a big black bag, leaving it in the middle of the kitchen.We loved having 3 bedrooms with TVs, 2 full baths, and a half bath. There's easy access to the washer/dryer, so we were able to keep clean towels and washclothes; however, there seems to be less washcloths than towels. We could have used more of them. The back porch is private and breezy. You can hear the Tweetsie Railroad train whistle clearly from this property. Temps were cooler at night and did get into the low 60s but daytime temps in mid June were in the low 90s. Bring a light jacket for nights and shorts for daytime.Be prepared for steep inclines when attending events. Older folks with heart and respiratory problems will need motorized wheelchairs.

The property was absolutely beautiful, extremely comfortable, and spotless. It was clear that a lot of care has gone into making it a great place to stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.The only thing worth mentioning is that the driveway is not for the faint of heart. It’s manageable, but something guests should be aware of, especially if arriving or leaving after dark. Other than that, everything was fantastic, and we would happily stay here again.

Beautiful home with a beautiful view. Enjoyed the full length deck. The decor was delightful. New construction not finished. Coffee bar very well stocked. The worst park was the driveway. Treacherous.

The house was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. Everything we needed was there. The host was responsive and helpful with every question we had. It is a charming home, very convenient to Boone and Blowing Rock. All four adults enjoyed the weekend at "The Retreat". Strongly Recommend
