The cottage is well equipped, the rooms are nicely decorated and the bedding is of a high quality. It is a lovely little space, very good value for a mid week break or long weekend. The property is very convenient to explore nearby National Trust properties and lovely walks are easily accessible, but transport links are poor, and a car is essential, as it is located in a small hamlet.
The parking for the property is difficult, the cottage is part of an old school building conversion, other properties are standing empty and for sale, the frontage and garden is untidy, mainly due to the proximity of the other residents.

A comfortable, small cottage with the amenities we needed.
The parking situation.
There is no parking information sent in the many many emails sent about the booking. For any future guests, you acces the "parking" area from tgmhe gravel driveway immediately south of the buildings. However it is really one parking if you drive a car the size of a 1960s Mini.
We were fortunate that the neighbour allowed us to park over the space allowed to the cottage. The alternatives are the bus stop (illegal?) Or maybe the private road across the road, or on street, on the main street.
This is not "parking included".
And Sykes, the property managers don't reply to or acknowledge any emails/messages. This is the third property we've stayed at that they manage. They just don't reply to any questions, they just keep sending duplicates if every email/message. Receives 10 for this booking.

Peaceful quiet cottage, cosy living room and kitchen with a lovely bathroom. Great location.
False advertisement, no parking when listing stated on site parking. When we arrived the caretaker/owner stated there was no parking and we had to park in the bus lay by or on the road so the neighbours could park, meaning problematic parking all week, especially on loading and unloading. Couldn't get the wifi to work and there isn't really a garden. Bedrooms could do with being up to the standard of the living room and kitchen. The main bed was comfy but very rickety so we were not 100% relaxed.
