Basecamp Lodge is built around an original, historic 1800s log cabin. It is designed to be a retreat for outdoor enthusiasts (cyclists, runners, hikers, etc) interested in coming to the area for a little slice of nature.
The property is adjacent to the Frederick Municipal Forest & Watershed with a river/creek running along the edge of the property, a spring & stream in the backyard along the tree line, nearby access to local multi-use trails, and plenty of outdoor entertainment space (decks, patios, etc).
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a full kitchen with attached dining area, large living room and gathering space, small library and den, private work spaces, an outdoor patio with grill and fire pit, access to outdoor decks, and a converted garage that serves as a 3-season indoor space with outdoor equipment and a bike work station, as well as other small group gathering spaces.
NOTE: We live next door and often walk through the back section of the property to access the trails. There is also a Hipcamp site at our pull-off area across the street.

Spotless clean. Great communication. Peaceful surrounds. Loved the trails and fire pit. Well appointed kitchen. Comfortable queen bed. We would definitely rent again!

Lovely spot to sit and relax inside and out. Clean and spacious. Also great spot if you like to get on a trail in the woods. Friendly area. Many pedal bike enthusiasts we saw pedal by as we sat out in the evening. Our host Alex was generous and kind. She provided a welcome hello, let us know she was nearby if needed, but in no way intrusive. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just far enough out of the city proper, but close enough for a drive in to downtown Frederick to enjoy what it had to offer. A tip. If go into Frederick downtown stop by the visitor center first. Informative and there was 3 hour parking validation for no cost.

The house and property were beautiful… Clean and comfortable! It was stocked with everything we could’ve needed. Renting this home truly made our stay so much more enjoyable compared to experiences else where.
