Börfink is located right in the heart of the relatively new Hunsrück Hochwald National Park, and the Alte Mühle is a historic inn right here in town. If you enjoy peace and quiet and love taking lovely walks or hikes, then you’ve come to the right place. Or perhaps you’d simply like to sit on the lawn below the house, enjoy nature, and read a good book. This is a place where you can slow down—if you’d like to. There’s a bakery and a butcher’s shop 10 minutes away by car in Brücken, and you can find everything you need for daily life in Birkenfeld or Hermeskeil (about a 15-minute drive away). Cell phone reception is available with Vodafone, and we have strong fiber-optic internet with good Wi-Fi here.

Here you can stay in a beautifully renovated shepherd’s wagon. There’s a bunk bed, a table, and two chairs, as well as electrical outlets and a private patio in front of the shepherd’s wagon.
For cold days, there’s a small plug-in heater.
The shared bathroom and kitchen—equipped with a refrigerator, stove, and oven—are located about 25 meters away in the house. The kitchen and bathroom were extensively renovated in early 2024 and are in very good condition.
There’s also a small lounge with a TV.
You’re right in the middle of nature here and can watch the chickens and enjoy the peace and quiet. And with a little luck, red deer will come right up to your door in the evening.... This is something truly special, especially from mid-September through mid-October during the rutting season.
These days, people call this “glamping”—in other words, luxury camping.
On weekends, it’s only rented out for 2 nights, unless something becomes available at the last minute—in that case, feel free to call or send a WhatsApp message. The price always includes bedding, towels, Wi-Fi, parking, and final cleaning.
