Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was quite good. History of pub and local mining community was interesting, and olde worlde, sort of thing.
Parking was roadside and rough hardstanding area in front of pub. First impression on entering pub was not good, as initial contact was instigated by a slightly tipsy regular... Not very professional.

The staff are very friendly and helpful with good local knowledge about things to do in the area.
The hotel is very pet friendly .
The food is very nice and with generous portions . You will not leave hungry.
The place could do with a little TLC. Some re decorating is in order .

Lovely staff and a great breakfast. The place is very tired and badly needs an update. The garden could be made lovely. Fabulous Sunday dinner ! Great location for Beamish.

Excellent food and friendly staff but place needs a serious make over. Bedding clean. Good location for visiting Beamish Museum.
Mattresses horrendous, need replacing immediately. Decor throughout very tired and needs updating. Needs a good deep clean. Garden completely overgrown. Towels stunk of smoke and strong smoke smell in public area
