Property was double booked. Arrived late at night only to find another family there.

Liked the location which is why I chose this property but didn't wind up staying here because they double-booked the house.

The number listed for the property owner is incorrect making it difficult to get in contact with the owner. Also, trying to contact Booking.com customer service is a joke if you actually need to speak to a human. Property was double-booked! Arrived late at night only to open a door to another family-SO EMBARRASSING! I had received the wifi password and door code in the morning of the day we traveled so I thought we were all set. I found out that a message was sent to the other family telling them to stay because they booked months ago on another site and that they were working on finding accommodations for us. That did not happen! Never heard a word about any other places to stay-we were on our own. Owner sent a message through Booking.com in the afternoon but we were already traveling (with terrible cellular service I might add since we were driving through mountains for 5 1/2 hours). I never checked the app- I had no reason to as I had all of the important information already that I would need. No call or email, just a message on the app. Had to get three hotel rooms another 25 minutes farther from the Renaissance Fair than this location was. Paid more money to sleep, spent more on food and had to separate from the rest of my family members which ruined it for us. I am not sure where the mistake happened but it was very inconvenient. I was refunded and given a little something to cover a dinner but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will NEVER book anything other than a hotel through the app again.
