It was an overnight stay

I stayed at the Northland Motel for two days, and it was one of the best motel experiences I've ever had. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond. The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuine. She made conversation so naturally that I felt like I had known her for years, and she even made my daughter feel comfortable and at ease. There was also a gentleman on staff who was just as kind and helpful.
What impressed me most was that every time the staff saw me, they asked if I needed anything, even fresh towels. They truly cared about making guests feel comfortable and appreciated. They even thanked me for being kind, which was such a refreshing interaction.
The room exceeded my expectations. It looked exactly like the photos online, had a modern updated feel, and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything was in excellent condition, and the air conditioning worked great. The property was quiet, well-maintained, and had plenty of parking.
As someone in management, I know how rare it is to find employees who consistently provide this level of customer service. To the owner: your staff is outstanding. I would absolutely recommend the Northland Motel to anyone visiting the area, and when I return, this will be my first choice for a place to stay.

I recently stayed in a Choice brand hotel in Newark, NJ, which was a disappointment. My Northlands Motel booking involved a last-minute change of plans, and I didn’t realize it was part of the same chain, which isn’t the hotel brand I normally stay in. I’m glad I didn’t know that, as I might have assumed the experience would be comparable and passed. It turned out to be much better than the hotel.
I hadn’t stayed in a motel in years but this one was perfect for what I needed, which was a decent room to spend one night in State College, PA.
The room was extremely clean and recently renovated. The attendant was friendly, thoughtful, and thorough at check-in. Her thoughtfulness was the difference between the disappointing experience at the hotel and the unexpectedly superior experience at the motel.
It was quiet when I was there, although of course, that can depend on who is checked in, and conveniently located for downtown, the university, and businesses on Atherton, without being right on busy Atherton. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room and Weis grocery store next to the motel, as well as numerous restaurants nearby. And parking is, of course, free.
I have stayed in quite a few places in State College over the past few years, and I would recommend Northlands Motel near Penn State University for anyone who is looking for a clean, comfortable room at a great price.

A hidden, reasonably priced motel in the State College area. Wonderful lady at check-in. Very friendly and helpful. Newly remodeled rooms which are very nice.
