Dirty, horrible, time and money wasted. Would not recommend

Host communicated well to let us drop our bags. And when we arrived at check in and saw the state of the place he was quite quick to tell us that the cleaner hadn’t come and he’d need to cancel the booking. However what happened next was awful so I don’t know if we liked anything

The property had not been cleaned at all when we arrived at 5pm. There were dirty towels and linen, rubbish, an unpleasant smell, and one of the dirty towels in the bathroom had blood stains on it!! The beds had not been made and the property was clearly still in the condition left by the previous guests. We immediately contacted the owner, who acknowledged the issue and said that the cleaning team had forgotten to come and that he would cancel the booking. Unfortunately, the situation then became extremely stressful. We had a flight at 4am and spent around two hours on the phone with Booking.com trying to find a solution and alternative accommodation. We had to pay more for a new property at very short notice and did not get into our replacement accommodation until later that evening. Bergen is expensive so it’s lucky we could afford this given we didn’t receive any money back at this point. More than 24 hours later, we are still waiting for our refund and compensation, despite being told by Booking.com that the original booking would be refunded. This significantly disrupted what should have been our final evening in Bergen before an early morning flight. Instead, the evening was spent dealing with an unclean property, finding somewhere else to stay and trying to resolve the situation with Booking.com. Overall, a really disappointing, stressful and costly experience. I would strongly recommend ensuring the property has actually been cleaned before accepting guests.

Great location and we enjoyed our stay. Apartment was not best value for money.

Great location and we enjoyed our few days there. Owner responded quickly to questions.

Property a little cramped for space especially for taller/bigger people. No instructions for wi-fi, oven etc - had to contact owner. No toaster, microwave or coffee making facilities - all of which would have been helpful. Basic facilities. Had problems finding door to property but neighbour helped us out. There were a lot of narrow steps up to apartment and would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Getting big cases up and down was tricky.

- Dirty when we arrived for check-in at 3 PM. - Someone cleaned the appartment before 4 PM but it was still dirty at some places. - The ceiling is quite low, especially in the bathroom, so be careful if you're tall. - so expensive for the experience.

Very good location. Near the harbour. Very pretty area. Close to restaurants and shops. Good bakery nearby. Quiet at night.

2 sets of steep stairs. Difficult with big luggage. There is room in living room to put a comfortable single bed rather than using the sofa. Bedrooms are small but ok for short visit.

Location was great. It is in the middle of the bergen city center. Very close to almost all the attractions. The apartment was clean and the owner was available and easy to reach out to.

Parking is costly for people driving with car. It cost us 480kr for two nights stay. Also there is no elevator and the apartment is located in the second floor which made it luggage non-friendly.
