The house feels very generously sized, with enormously high ceilings in the main room (and a crazily comfortable sofa!). The bedrooms were all comfortable and the house was very nicely decorated/kitted out and spotlessly clean, with everything that we needed. Karla, the host, was helpful and responsive over WhatsApp, and gave us some great recommendations of beaches and restaurants to visit. The shared pool was wonderful (the pool towels Karla supplied were appreciated) - it was really huge, and in an attractive garden area just in front of the house. We presumed that it was shared by all the other houses in the enclave, but it was very uncrowded and we were often almost the only people using it. We found the house a very restful and relaxing (and well air-conditioned) retreat to enjoy being in after a day being out and about.
The Forest Hill enclave is very pleasant, but it is a little way from Fisherman's Village (a good 10+ minutes on foot), and it's not the most attractive walk either. However, it wasn't too bad, and when we didn't fancy the walk, or were going longer distances, we used the brilliant Grab app to order taxis (works like Uber), which were reasonably priced (cheaper than picking up a meter cab), and also always on hand - often we only had to wait 2 minutes for a car to arrive. We personally found Fisherman's Village not really our thing - rammed with tourists and loud restaurants/souvenir shops. However, walking the length of the drag beach-side, rather than on the road, made it a more pleasant experience, and we had some nice meals out there. Much more to our liking was the lovely Maenam beach and also Choeng Mon beach, both a taxi ride away.

Mrs.Karla Marin is an excellent host!
Villa Alaia is located in a very quiet compound with a great neighborhood.
The location is very close to all attractions and to the Fisherman's Village.
The villa is equipped with all necessary electrical appliances to be independent for washing and cooking as well.
