MOYSEION Matera - Real-life experience in the distant past

Stunning, an incredible way to experience the past! We stayed here for 2 nights in August and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. You genuinely feel how people lived here in the past, the views alone are worth it. The view is incredible! I have to highlight the dedication of the staff. When we asked how long they'd been there, they told us they don't see themselves as working for the hotel, they're part of the project. That's exactly what the whole experience feels like: you're not just a guest, you become part of something. In the evening there's a performance in the spa area followed by a light dinner while they play traditional instruments. Definitely ask them how long they've practised and what it takes to make these instruments, one of the musicians spent years crafting just one part of what I'd call an old flute (I'm sure it has a proper name). You have to master a technique that hasn't really changed in over 2,500 years. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, so food is never an issue. I'd highly suggest staying at least 2 nights, don't rush this. Take your time, enjoy the city. It gets hot in the afternoon, so walk in the mornings and evenings and rest through the heat of the day. That still leaves plenty of time to explore both the old and new parts of Matera. The new part of the city has more of a buzz if that's what you're after, and there are so many restaurants around that you'll definitely not be disappointed with the food. Highly recommend this place!

ALLES! Das Konzept, die Idee, die Umsetzung, die Zimmer, die Liebe zu Details, die Hingabe des Personals, das Ambiente, der Poolbereich, das Essen, das Programm, die Schauspieler, Sänger und Künstler…. PHÄNOMENAL, mehr kann man dazu nicht sagen… Hut ab! Es ist als ob man in eine Zeitmaschine steigt und sich auf Zeitreise begibt! Man erlebt die ohnehin schon unfassbar reiche Geschichte der Stadt mit Leib und Seele. Unglaublich wertvolles Erlebnis, das man nicht vergisst….

Es hat mir ALLES gefallen. Es gibt absolute nicht auszusetzen..

Fantastisk oplevelse - maden, ceremonierne, spa badet, indretningen og tøjet fra 700 BC gjorde opholdet unikt. Hotellet ligger perfekt midt i Sassi.

Det vil være rart med en bar i receptionen eller minibar på værelset. Derudover vil jeg anbefale at have møbler på de udendørs terrasser.
