Was ground floor. Was spacious, and dog friendly.

Very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Close to the beach and local shops.
There were no bedside lights so you had to have the main light on at night to read while in bed.
There were only big curtains on the windows, so, even during the day, everyone walking past or on buses could see straight in.
Kitchenette was very basic, would have been nice to have a toaster in there.

The facilities in the room were very good - mini kitchen unit. The standard of the fit and fixtures was high.
The room had a stale musty smell of smoke, when reported over the phone on arrival, to be fair, somebody was sent out who tried to rectify the issue with a tin of febreze (whilst we were out at a dinner reservation/theatre), we had opened all the windows earlier to try to help, but as it was a ground floor room - we had to close all windows on leaving for the evening. The bathroom door had dirt and stains on it, the bathroom floor had bleach marks on the lino. On opening the fridge flies were seen coming out. The kettle had not been checked and there was a black burnt mark in the base. There were also visible marks on the painted walls. We were promised that someone would report back to us after they had visited, but this didn't happen Friday evening - despite a chase message on the booking.com message, leaving us to wonder what action at that time had been taken. We had considered other accommodation, as we were told our request to move rooms was not possible. The whole experience spoilt what should have been a pleasant evening and led to unnecessary stress and worry. In a response back that came on Sunday there was a sarcastic comment of "Smell of smoke - clearly your efforts before our arrival must have done the trick as we couldn’t smell smoke" - I can assure you the smell, although masked, remained - all windows in the property were left open whilst we slept and whenever possible to help.
