The location was wonderful - next to the beach in a lovely garden. We were met by Kadek and other staff all of whom were lovely.
The cabin, although very simple and small, was clean and functional.
WiFi was good, the place was clean and Kadek stayed late ( she normally finishes at 4pm) to provide dinner on our first evening.
We liked that it was away from central Lovina because it showed a more rural side of Bali.
We could walk to a beach club about 10 minutes down the beach and local people showed us a way through behind the trees when the tide was too high for us to wade through a part of the way to the club.
We found another restaurant (seafood) in the opposite direction, reached by walking through a small lane reached via the garden gate onto the beach and then a short walk along the main road.
We should have chosen to stay at the villa or the Nest as they are much more comfortable-looking than the shack.
The cabin was fairly basic.
We did not realise that taxis become scarce after about 7.30pm and were stranded at Inbalance restaurant a good ten minutes drive away.
Fortunately, the very kind person who opened her restaurant and cooked for us, also phoned a friend who took us back to the shack.
There are some good restaurants in central Lovina but make sure you arrange for your driver to collect you and take you back home after dinner.

this is a fantastic apartment, really like a nest - in fact a lot of little birds live around the apartment and we enjoyed their sounds and visits all day long. The pool is surprisingly big, and situated very smartly in the shade. The view is like a postcard, part jungle, part beach. The beach is really just a short walk. There is a beach club 5 minutes away by foot, and a small supermarket about 10 minutes distance, but that´s it. Drinking water is provided by the hosts and there is somebody around night and day so we always felt safe.
There is a restaurant/beachclub on walking distance (although during high tide you might get wet feet) but the food is mediocre and they were closed on monday. It was very hard to get a taxi, so this was a bit of a challenge. But the locals are so friendly that we found our way. I would defenitely recommend this apartment, but you should have your own transportation

Nice setting in garden. Easy to check in late at night.
Internet wifi didn’t work for my time there (which was only overnight, but still annoying as I needed it).
Beach was filthy and wouldn’t swim in the polluted water.
Mosquitos can easily enter the room.
