Posizione ottima

The property was easily accessible in a relatively quiet, not too touristy, area of Venice. It looked exactly like the pictures and was pleasantly decorated, airy and with plenty of light. Kitchen was well equipped.
What I didn’t like had nothing to do with the property itself but with the company that runs it. Difficult to communicate with them, very impersonal and disorganised. My request whether I would be able to check in earlier than 3 pm was answered by a variety of different employees and I never got a precise answer. Finally, their check out time at 10 am is unheard off in holiday rentals, it should definitely be 12 noon.

The location of the apartment is excellent, convenient to the vaporetto stop at the Zattere and short walking distance to Accademia and Dorsoduro, as well as San Marco. The apartment is spacious enough and reasonably furnished. The hot water and wifi are very good. The bed is comfortable. The price is comparable to similar accommodations in Venice. The pictures online are an accurate representation of the accommodation.
Unfortunately, the apartment had not been cleaned on my arrival. The sheets had not been changed, there was food and dishes from the previous guests and used towels in the bathroom. It was necessary to contact Wonderful Italy via Whatsapp and after a short delay they arranged for me to stay at another apartment for the first night, at no extra cost, which was appreciated. However, this necessitated relocation in the dark, and cold, and rain, as well as another set of coordinates and codes. While the interim accommodation was spacious and well-appointed, its terrazzo floor was damaged and there were some signs of wear and tear throughout. Returning to the original accommodation the following morning it was still being cleaned, which necessitated leaving my bags unattended at the property while this was completed. The apartment could be truly "wonderful" with some small updates such as removing marks on walls, providing a kettle and microwave, updating the couch etc. The check-in system was glitchy and the communication with Wonderful Italy could also be streamlined. Travellers should note that access to the property involves wrangling suitcases up a narrow flight of stairs, navigating two codes and finding the light switches etc. Overall, the apartment has the potential to be an excellent place for a short stay in Venice, if the owners and managers took just a few more steps to ensure the services and facilities are updated and efficient.

"The location is exceptional! That part of the neighbourhood is quiet but you’re only a short walk from all the best places in Venice. The apartment is amazing and has all the facilities you’d need."
