Our room didn’t have any balcony or possibility to open the windows.

The M31 team went above and beyond for us in every sense! We came to Malta to celebrate our anniversary and my 30th so we were greeted with a beautifully decorated room and birthday card. The buffet breakfast every morning is brilliant and there is an à la carte option included too. There are cocktails on happy hour and the evening 3-course 25€ menu is so reasonable too and so fresh. Facilities are clean and air-conned and room service is available every day to clean rooms. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. To all the staff, especially the receptionist, who worked from 19/8-24/8 thank you! You helped make our trip unforgettable 🥰💖

Now, talking about the advantages: First of all, the room itself is really nice, new, modern, and well-maintained. It’s really nice to see that. Second of all, the cleaning staff are doing their job well, and I can’t complain about them. Third of all, despite the limitations of the breakfast, the food itself was really tasty.

Not everything is as great as it seems from the photos and reviews. Starting with the disadvantages… First of all – when we checked in, we were given a room with no balcony and only one small window around the sleeping area. This made the room very dark and inconvenient to use during summer holidays, when you need somewhere to dry your clothes and towels. After we complained to the manager, they changed our room to one with a small (really, really small) balcony and large windows. However, you never know which room you’re going to get. Second of all – the cheese & ham shown in their photos looks like it’s unlimited. Well… it’s not. It’s actually very, very limited. There is no cheese or ham available unless you order it as a “continental meal” (or something like that). On top of that, you have to order it for two people – you can’t get cheese and ham just for yourself (LOL). You get four slices of each of three different types of cheese and ham, and you can’t even ask for one additional slice. We were shocked by this and told the manager that I was going to mention it in my review. Two minutes later, we received the additional cheese we had asked for, but that’s not how it should work when you’ve paid €850 for a week at this hotel. That’s crazy. I’ve stayed at many hotels with breakfast included, and they offered much more unlimited food – and guess what… they were A LOT cheaper. On top of that, on our last day we saw a couple from another room order exactly the same cheese & ham plate, and they received a lot more than we did. I honestly don’t even know how that’s possible. Third of all – ants in the room. There was no problem with ants in the first room, but as soon as we moved to our new room, we noticed that plenty of ants were walking around everywhere. We hoped that the next time the cleaning staff came, they would do something about it, but… nope. We had to live with them for the rest of our stay.
