The staff at the reception was kind who gave early check in
This was my second time staying at Shalom, and unfortunately, the experience this time was quite disappointing.
Starting from the reception area, the common washroom was in a very poor condition. It was extremely dirty, poorly maintained, and honestly not in a condition where one would feel comfortable using it. The reception/waiting area was also not clean and could definitely use much better maintenance.
On the positive side, the check-in process was very smooth, and the person at the reception was kind enough to accommodate our request for an early check-in, which I really appreciated.
However, once we entered the room, the issues continued. The AC was leaking water and making a lot of noise. The room itself was not properly cleaned. Even after bringing it to the attention of the reception, there were still things like toothpicks and other waste lying around. The condition of the floor mat was particularly bad — it was so dirty that wiping your feet on it almost felt like making them dirtier.
Overall, this was a very different experience from what I had expected, especially considering this was my second stay here. A property like this can be much better with proper housekeeping, regular maintenance, and someone actually checking the common areas and rooms regularly.
One thing that particularly saddened me was seeing the plants around the property standing in excess water and looking like they were dying. It gave the impression that even small but important things were being overlooked.
I genuinely hope the property management takes this feedback seriously and works on cleanliness, housekeeping, maintenance, and overall upkeep. At the moment, based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here, but I would be happy to see the property improve because it has the potential to offer a much better experience.
