YHA Edale Activity Centre

Decent location. Facilities are what you'd expect from a YHA brand. Not really a negative or a positive but people who have access issues should be aware that the route to Kinder Cottage is a bit of a hike in itself.

My room was based on a separate building at Kinder Cottage. The room in itself was okay but during the period that I stayed, there was a leak in a few showers and toilets. As a result, there was only 1 working toilet and 1 working shower on separate floors. There was a long wait between the lodgers of that building due to the leak.

Super great value beautiful location for hiking and lots of amenities

Drinks available including bar. Beautiful location with owl sat on fence each evening on way back up the drive.

The room was basic however as expected for a Youth Hostel. No complaints.

Proximity to Greenacres campsite.

The room size, Rm 16, smaller than a prison cell. Bunk bed not long enough. No window, just skylight, hard to reach and adjust, even with pole. Internet/wifi was intermittent. No phone signal and therefore no way to reach elderly mother. For £52 for the night, I'd expect at least a proper single bed and a kettle to make a brew, with a few tea bags. Instead I had to walk out of the building to a separate building to find a kitchen. The continental breakfast wasn't brilliant either. Was expecting some higher end ingredients for approx £8.
