Everything from surfaces to appliances were spotless inside the flat #1. From building entry to flat entry the conditions are a little weathered and worn, but natural for a building of this age.
The 3m high ceilings and tall windows facing the front street allowed generous amounts of reflected sunlight bouncing off the building opposite on what was a cool late afternoon, and the street had a generous mix of bicyclists and pedestrians. Mostly cars and small trucks otherwise with only one or two sirens over the course of my entire 12 hour stay.
If you're walking to and from Antwerp Centraal use a GPS as some of the 'forks' in the road are very subtle. I doubled back at least twice while heading there as I took my eyes off the GPS thinking it was a no-brainer, when indeed it was not entirely, lol.
Arriving via rail and in a hurry for food/groceries on the way to the flat? Directly across from the main entry to Antwerp Centraal is a well-stocked basement version (with escalators but no elevator, should you be lugging heavy bags) of Albert Heijn (the grocery chain) with lots of options in the fresh and ready to eat section near the entry (photo included).
As my company in Canada has purveyed historically correct address and unit numbers for nearly 3 decades, I experience probably more annoyance at lacklustre wayfinding than most, but there is no unit # on or near the door so go past the first door (at what in some countries would be called the 'mezzanine' level -- where the stairs double back) as that opens to a flat at the back of the building (I tried my key in that door and it was a no-go), and proceed up to the 2nd door which faces the front: That is unit #1.
I was not the only clueless guest that night: The occupants of Unit #2 arrived after me, and I could hear them trying their key in my door. I opened up and let a friendly couple from the UK know they were in the same state of confusion as myself, and could proceed up past the next stairway door (facing the back) to the one facing the front and that would surely be Unit #2 (directly over Unit #1). Success.

Very good location, central, but on the other hand in the quarter, ehere not everybody would feel safe. The appartment was big and comfortable, wIth some more maintanance it might be really nice place.
The house itself (corridor) doesnt look very well maintained.

Bon emplacement et très calme. Lit confortable.
Réservation faite pour 3 personnes il y avait que 3 assiettes dont 1 très sale avec fromage fondu collé sur l'assiette. 2 fourchettes pour 3 personnes. 4 couteaux. 1 cuillère à dessert pour 3 personnes.
