The 74-kilometer coastal hiking route is divided into four daily stages: the mountain stage, the brick stage, the crow stage, and the beach stage. Each stage winds along the shore of the fjord, offering a varied and partly hilly landscape. Along the hiking route, you will have ample opportunity to experience rare plants and animals as well as many interesting biotopes and landscapes, from orchids, frogs, and birds to tunnel valleys, cliffs, and rocky reefs. At the same time, you can discover the history and the many myths and legends associated with Gendarmstien and the border area.
