Awful - the frequency of the rats impacted our ability to enjoy the garden/property.

The house had a quirky feel and the seating area in the kitchen was of a good size as were the bedrooms. Even though there was no parking the location of the property was very good.

The house was not as clean as we expected; we found dirty mugs in the kitchen cupboard as well as a glass with lipstick still on it. There were also no basic cleaning supplies provided such as washing up liquid/scourers or dishwasher tablets. More seriously the shower drain became blocked after just one use. We contacted the owner who said housekeeping could come and look at it the following day. As there were 8 of us staying this would have meant that the other 7 guests would potentially not be able to have a shower that day/the following morning. Therefore we decided to buy some cleaning products (drain unblocker) and unblock it ourselves -not how we wanted to spend the start of our holiday. However the most concerning issue by far was the presence of rats. From the very first evening of our stay we saw rats entering the garden. They appeared regularly including in the morning while we were having breakfast and also at various times throughout our stay. The rats were not wary of us as they came right up to the glass doors and on a couple of occasions attempted to get through a cat flap which thankfully was locked. As a result we did not feel comfortable using the garden or even leaving the doors open. This was particularly disappointing as access to and enjoyment of the outdoor space was an important part of the holiday for our group. We took photos and videos to show the owner. The initial response was unsympathetic - lack of concern/apologising and saying we were "unlucky". She later contacted pest control but she said we would need to remain at the property to let them in but we didn't want to spend part of our holiday waiting for/dealing with pest control. The alternative given was for housekeeping to put traps in the garden but we didn't like the idea of dead rats in the garden either. We ended up having to keep the doors and the windows closed whilst avoiding the garden and spending as little time as possible at the...

Great place to stay in great location

Great location - very central and close to the beachfront, yet very quiet. The kitchen area has a good space for any meals (we just used it for breakfast) and for hanging out. The sitting room was spacious and comfortable too. It was also good to have a nice house with 5 bedrooms and with 2 of the bedrooms with single beds rather than trying to squeeze in bunk beds. Definitely recommended.

A very lovely relaxing stay with a lovely home to host a family. Would reccomend to anyone wanting to visit deal.
