Arrival instructions were super clear.
I have this to say: I am extremely careful about booking properties with higher ratings because I try to avoid that which I encountered during this stay, in a four star property that does have a suitably high rating - a mystery that I will never solve. To start, we were greeted by a mountain of garbage bags right in front of our door despite arriving right on time. The overwhelming problem in this apartment was the smell - upon our arrival there was even a plate placed on the shower drain as a fruitless attempt to subdue the horrible smell coming from the sewers. We could not keep the bathroom door open for long, and even with it closed the smell permiated the entire apartment. Using the bathroom or, god forbid, taking a shower, meant having to plunge into the source of the smell and make it worse by pouring more water into the already dreadful pipes. As our trip was approaching, the owner sent me strict messages about not allowing us to stay without a deposit - which I realized immediately upon arrival is because the property is already damaged and the owner is trying to get extra cash out of us. We found the kitchen cupboard door broken, a broken glass (?) inside the kitchen table drawer, a burn mark and a wobbly fridge door. I took pictures in hopes of arguing for my deposit afterwards but by now I have made peace with that and just want to forget about the whole ordeal. Please note, there are neighbors who drunkenly yell at you in russian, the walls are in fact Not soundproof & you can hear people stomping and yelling into the night, and the entrance into the inner yard is barely enough space to fit a car. Of course, you can always attempt parking on the street as the owner suggested, if you are ready to face the neighbors.

Olimme varanneet majoituspaikan n. klo 16:30 perjantaina enkä ollut katsonut puhelinta 4 tuntiin, sillä menimme heti vesipuistoon, jossa ei ollut kunnon verkkoyhteyttä (Akvaparks). Kun tulimme ulos ja lähdimme ajamaan kohti majoituspaikkaa, huomasimme, että oli siirrettävä 200 € vahinkovakuutus jonnekin yksityiselle tilille. Soitin majoituspaikalle ja sieltä vastasi epäystävällinen venäläinen mies, joka vaati vahinkovakuutusta (klo oli 21) ja sanoi, ettei asunto ole valmis kuin tunnin päästä. Totuus on, että nettisivulla ei lukenut mitään vakuutuksesta enkä yleisestikään halua siirtää rahoja minnekään, vielä vähemmä perjantai-iltana klo 21. Ei ole mitään takeita, että he rahojani palauttavat. Noh, sanoin, ettemme tule, sillä omistaja vaikutti epäystävälliseltä ihmiseltä ja puhui epäkunnioittavasti, ikään kuin olisin tulossa tuhoamaan hänen asuntoa. Puhui jostain polttariporukoista ja vastaavista. Minulla oli mukana mieheni ja lapset ja halusimme vaan päästä pian petiin pitkän matkustuspäivän jälkeen. Sen jälkeen olen selvitellyt asiaa vaikka kuinka Bookingin kanssa. Minulle kukaan koskaan ei palauttanut rahaa. Olimme varanneet 3 yötä - maksoimme 300 €, mutta ei omistaja eikä Booking suostunut meille mitään korvaamaan. Olkaa varovaisia tällaisten kanssa! Harmi, ettemme voi luottaa myöskään Bookingiin asiassa. Ymmärrän vielä, jos ensimmäisestä yöstä rahat pidätettäisiin, mutta menetimme myös toisen ja kolmannen yön maksut. Ja jos tällainen vakuusmaksu on maksettava, tästä pitäisi lukea majoituspaikan kuvauksessa. Puhelinsovelluksessa sellaista kohtaa ei ollut.
